The OAS screen currently applies only to Flash Creative content. This screen contains the Flash Click Handler settings that define how OAS will count clicks and impressions.
Note: The above steps are the same as described in the Campaigns Reference Manual.
- The default screen for the OAS option is the Banner screen.

| Flash Click Handlers | |
| Hard Coded |
Select this option if hard-coded actionscript is part of the specifications for your Flash Creative. It indicates that the code handling the click interaction has been hard-coded by the Flash developer or designer and that the Flash Creative will not require further modification. It also assumes that the Flash developer or designer has already addressed the necessary variables inside the Flash file. It is also possible that there is no actionscript at all. Controls for tracking interactions through the Flash Creative still need to be addressed by the developer or designer. However, how this is done may not be known or determined since different authors may use different coding styles or methods. Fortunately though, there are some conventions you may use as a guide. The following document hyperlink details basic solutions and best practices associated with this issue. In particular, please refer to the heading: To assign a clickTAG for your advertisement (halfway down the page). http://www.adobe.com/resources/richmedia/tracking/designers_guide/ |
| Fs Command |
The Fs Command option is used when you want to communicate program control and interaction from the Flash Creative to the interactive features of the browser. If you select this option, Ad Wizard will set the appropriate JavaScript variables with the output for your Creative, so click interaction will ultimately be handled by the browser (in this example, via JavaScript). There are various dimensions to the Fs Command and several ways to implement its functionality. (Click Function) |
In Ad Wizard, this option is implemented similarly to the Fs Command option and should be selected if and when corresponding actionscript has been set by the Flash developer. In this case, the actionscript would be programmed to trigger a JavaScript function name matching what would be placed in the inputfield associated with this option. The actual JavaScript function to handle the click and content redirection would then be generated by Ad Wizard with the same variable name. For instance, if the function name myJavascript was set in the input field, the generated output would place that variable name as the JavaScript function name. Select this option if the Flash developer has programmed the Creative to work in this manner. However, (as considered above) different coding styles and methods may be used by different developers. (Click Variable) |
This setting is the most common option. The standard variable for the input field is generally set as: clickTAG. Ad Wizard will set this dynamic variable in the Creative output so that it can communicate with the corresponding actionscript. However, to enable this feature, the actionscript variable inside the Flash Creative must match what you insert into the input field. Everything will then be handled by the generated output at the code level. Basically, Ad Wizard will associate this variable with the click URL originally set in the Creative Page, thereby completing the necessary input for Open AdStream’s click interaction tracking mechanism. When the Creative is delivered, this finalized combination will be passed to the Flash Creative so that the actionscript function for opening a new window receives the completed URL. From an Ad Wizard user's point of view, the requirements for this option are two-fold. The Flash Creative must be prepared to receive the final click variable, and the variable names are the same in both the actionscript and the input field. For more information about actionscript functionality with respect to this variable and how it will normally be passed, please refer to the following document hyperlink: |
